Sardinian white
from Capichera
The word “Vigna 'Ngena” in the Gallurese dialect means "someone else's or foreign vineyard": this name was chosen because it was initially produced with grapes from vineyards under management, but today they have become property. The history of this Vermentino and the Capichera winery began over thirty years ago in Gallura, an area located in the far north of Sardinia and particularly suitable for viticulture.
The land on which the Capichera vineyards stand are located not far from Arzachena and were owned by the family since the nineteenth century. It was in the 1970s that the Ragnedda family began planting new Vermentino vines, the typical local variety of grapes, and built a cellar for the production of wines. Thus began the adventure of Capichera, which today represents a real point of reference for the production of Vermentino.
Vermentino "Vigna 'Ngena" is a wine capable of embodying the tradition of a winemaking history that began years ago, with an absolutely modern taste and balance. With this Vermentino Capichera manages to convey love for the vineyard, for wine and respect for the balance of nature.
