Muscadet Academie is a white wine produced in the Loire-Atlantique Valley, notable the influence that the oceanic climate gives to this wine, particularly suitable to accompany dishes of crustaceans, molluscs, seafood and fish. Muscadet rests on the lees for 6 months: for this reason all the bottles have the Sur Lie engraving. It is a wine with good structure and character, characteristics mainly due to the very clayey soil and the age of the vines (on average 30/40 years). The main feature is the marked minerality.
Historical curiosity: the planting of the Burgundy melon was strongly desired by Napoleon following a very harsh winter that had greatly damaged the viticulture of the area. A lover of the Loire whites, Napoleon, after noting the strength of this vine in resisting the harsh winter, favored its cultivation.
